Dara began his career as a Construction Studies Teacher before going to college to pursue Masters in Sustainable Building Design and Performance. In addition, he became a Certified Passive House Designer and Tradesperson. Dara developed the national skills specifications for the NZEB Ventilation course, which is now recognised as the national ventilation training course for competent designers/installers, a project he is still actively involved in. Dara works with off-site manufacturers to help them design for airtightness, delivers on-site and online training and provides ventilation design services for residential and commercial projects. He is also involved in research and development. When he’s not at work Dara likes to stay active in the gym and out on his kayak around the lakes in Galway and Mayo.
